The Adventures of Sandy, Princess, and Pookie Bird is about how a lonely little boy named Joey finds friendship with some special pet-friends. The book is also about the adventure his little pet-friends have when they try to follow Joey when he has to leave them for a while and they don't understand why. They wonder if Joey is in trouble or if he just doesn't love them anymore.
