Memories of a Nobody is an entertaining, candid memoir by Alan Hodgkiss, blending North of England humor, with personal tales from a humble beginning in wartime and postwar childhood in England.

This engaging memoir chronicles memorable back and forth travels and culturally different lifestyles in England and overseas.

Alan comically describes encounters with celebrities, and reflects on what truly matters in life. Its a tale of resilience and humor, and Alan's down-to-earth storytelling mixes nostalgia and wit in his anecdotes and the challenges of starting over and over in the enduring search for happiness and belonging.

Here's what the editor had to say about Memories of a Nobody.

A true vagabond, Alan Hodgkiss has spent the past four decades seeking out opportunities on three continents with varying degrees of success but always infinite supplies of optimism.

Born into a working class Lancashire family during the early years of world war two, he joined the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers of the British Army and saw service in the Middle East and Africa in the early nineteen sixties.

By the end of the decade, the desire for more from life prompted Alan and his wife Rita to answer the siren's call of emigration to Canada. This proved to be the first of countless moves across oceans and continents in pursuit of the perfect rainbow and business opportunities. Memories of a Nobody is lively and imbued with the author’s ever ready sense of humour, even in the most trying of circumstances. – Susan McDougall.

Alan adds to the editors comments, that he wrote Memories of a Nobody at the request of his many friends but went on to say that they only asked because they could close a book but were too polite to tell him to shut up.

Alans rather unique story is narrated by an artificial intelligent voice, that does not have a Lancashire accent.
