The Pixar Pitch formula is simple on the surface. But it’s deceptive as once you try creating one, you’ll realize how difficult it is to come up with a killer story idea.

Once upon a time___________. Every day, ___________. One day ___________. Because of that, ___________. Because of that, ___________. Until finally, ___________.

That’s it. Take your ordinary character and extraordinary situation and run it through the Pixar Pitch template. Create three versions and see which one you like best or the one that others like best.

According to Snyder, the most important aspect of the title is that “It says what it is.” Forget being cute or clever and tell the reader exactly what she can expect.

My contemporary interpretation for Three Story Method is Conflict, Choice, and Consequence. Let’s take a closer look at each component of the Three Story Method pyramid.

Conflict

The thing that yanks your protagonist out of his ordinary life. Yes, it’s that simple

Choice

“The choice between good and evil or between right and wrong is no choice at all.” – Robert McKee

In every unit of Story, your protagonist must face a choice. I need to repeat this: There must be a choice.

best Choice in any story leaves the reader (1) arguing with himself over which option is best for the character and (2) unable to put the book down, insistent on finding out what the character decides.

Consequence

On the nature of consequence, Aristotle says, “Actions capable of this effect must happen between persons who are either friends or enemies or indifferent to one another.

Three Story Method has been built on Aristotle’s timeless method for Story creation, a new interpretation for a modern world.
