Marshall, announced a comprehensive system of recovery aid for Europe.

In June 1947, after a harsh winter brought Europe to its knees, President Truman’s new Secretary of State, General George C.

History would call it the ‘Marshall Plan’.

Its official title was the European Recovery Plan (ERP).
